Today I love...

...WINTER...in fact, I love winter throughout this week! Wanna know why? Well, because of figure skating of course. Not that there is no other opportunity to practice it during winter, but because it is not even about practicing it, but watching!!!!
Perhaps you've heard about many competitions and championships in the domain, but this year is even more important, because of the Olympics which will take place in Vancouver. BUT don't let me deviate from my initial intention, that of talking about the European Championships, which are held in Tallinn, Estonia. Oh I'm such a fan of this wonderful sport...I don't even know whether I like to call it that way; I would rather perceive it as a form of art than just a random winter-sport.
For me following figure skating is like going to a museum to watch and analyze art, and than get swept of my feet by the beauty and intensity of certain pieces...

Than again, I am not an expert so how would I know or how would I be able to recognize perfection? True, I do not count the rotation of the jumps and I do not look at whether they skate on the inner or outer blade of their skates. But what I do know is, that a simple dry competition ends and art starts at the point when I forget about myself, I forget to see the components of the program and start seeing it as a whole, as one piece in which the skater takes me away and tells me a story and thus only at the end of the program when people start clapping do I realize that in fact I am still at home sitting in the armchair watching a screen...But I was given a moment of peace, a moment of truth, a moment of perfection...
